Faye Monteith

Faye Monteith was born in the Highlands in 1992, and began piano lessons at the age of 12 with William Gilmour. She went on to study music at the Aberdeen City Music School from 2008 to 2010, specialising in piano with Dr Barbara Strawa-Payne. She then moved to Glasgow to study piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Professor Fali Pavri, returning to the Highlands after the completion of her degree. In 2015 she began working as a freelance musician, performing solo and with other musicians across the Highlands and taking up positions of accompanist for the Inverness Music Festival and the National Youth Choir of Scotland's Inverness choir. Notable performances include Mahler's 9th Symphony with Scottish chamber group the Mahler Players in 2016 and Belladrum Festival. In 2017, Faye travelled to Massachusetts USA, as Musical Director and Accompanist at Eisner camp for the duration of four musicals (Fiddler on the Roof, Matilda, Alice in Wonderland and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat). Faye continues to teach and perform in the Highlands.
